Loneliness may cause depression, stress and even frustration, as the saying goes no man is an island and we need to have someone or thing in our lives.

Well, more bad news all loneliness is like to an increase in the risk for heart disease and stroke.

Researchers, have analyzed data from 23 previous studies and found out that feeling of loneliness or social isolation are tied to an increased risk for stroke and coronary heart disease. it is also a risk factor for heart attack, clogged arteries, anxiety and occupational stress, statistics have placed at a more higher cause of vascular diseases than obesity or high blood pressure.
The 23 studies consisted of 181,006 men and women 18 and older. According to the researchers there were 3,002 strokes and 4,628 coronary events following up in a period of 3 to 21 years. The major factors were traced to loneliness or social isolation or both.

The researchers found out that social isolation and loneliness increased the risk of stroke by 32 per cent, and the risk of dying from heart disease, angina and risk of having a heart attack by 29 per cent, though  there were no differences between men and women.

Added to research linking loneliness to higher rates of cognitive decline and poor immune system function, loneliness begins to look like a blight not just on society but on our collective well-being.

In order words those who mix up, laugh and smile more may be reducing their risks of heart diseases and strokes..

Feel free to confide in a friend if you feel lonely, a research has shown that 61% of people from all age ranges and backgrounds in the UK are uncomfortable in confiding in a friend or relative that feel lonely meaning this is not just affecting the older people alone.

You live once, so there's is no reason to isolate yourself, remember no man is an island
