Zika Virus, and now Yellow Fever, Kudos! Mosquitoes you are now the killer vectors spreading all terrible illness all over the world.

An outbreak of yellow fever has claimed the lives of at least 146 people in Angola since December, according to the World Health Organization. Most of the deaths have been in the bustling capital of Luanda.

Dr. Margaret Harris a pandemic expert at the WHO described it as a large outbreak.

Like some deadly diseases we are hearing of today, this disease is transmitted by two types of mosquitoes. (One of which is known to cause the Zika Virus).

The yellow fever virus is transmitted when a mosquito bites an infected monkey and then bites a human being and it only affects humans

Symptoms of Yellow Fever Include muscle pain, nausea, fever, loss of appetite and vomiting, and can be confused for malaria or other mosquito-borne illnesses.

Only a small percentage of infected people experience a second phase of this disease within 24 hours of becoming ill, which comes with more advanced symptoms, including hemorrhaging, jaundice and bleeding from the eyes, mouth and nose.

At least half of the patients who get the second phase of the disease die within 10 to 14 days.

There is no official treatment for yellow fever, the treatment provided is aimed at reducing the symptoms and providing comfort for the patient.

Vaccination which is being provided now, is the most effect preventive measure against yellow fever.
